    Colter Sonneville, PLA, ISA Arborist

    PRINCIPAL

    Born into a Chicago family of arborists and botanists, Colter has had a lifelong passion for nature conservation.

    After high school, Colter served in the US Coast Guard for six years, achieving the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class. Following his passion for environmental protection, he qualified as a pollution investigator, hazardous facilities inspector, and law enforcement boarding team officer.

    After leaving the service, he attended the University of Illinois and then moved to Chicago to provide ecological restoration and GIS mapping for Chicago non-profits.

    After moving to Austin in 2014, he became enamored with the subtropical climate, rocky escarpments, and spikey flora of the Texas Hill Country. He founded Plantiquity in 2024 .

    Clare has over 8 years of professional experience specializing in the design, production, and coordination of commercial and multifamily residential outdoor amenity spaces, streetscapes, and parks. Clare is committed to delivering carefully considered, functional, and visually compelling landscapes that align with client objectives while enhancing the ecological and built environment.
